With the focus on applying theoretical knowledge to practical work, students will be expected to take part in a number of performances as either an Actor, Director, Set/Costume Designer or Lighting or Sound Technician. The programme is coursework based and so there is little external assessment and most assessments will be in the form of assignments, presentations and practical performances.

'AS' and 'A2' Level Performing Arts
Duration: AS 1 year, A2 2 years

This subject allows students to study and explore the role of drama inside Performing Arts as well as giving them the opportunity to develop their knowledge in the areas of dance and/or music as an optional part of the course.
What will I study?
With the focus on applying theoretical knowledge to practical work, students will be expected to take part in a number of performances as either an Actor, Director, Set/Costume Designer or Lighting or Sound Technician.
The programme is coursework based and so there is little external assessment and most assessments will be in the form of assignments, presentations and practical performances (group and individual).
As part of the unit titled Performing to a Commission students will be given a strict set of criteria from which they will be expected to create their own performance.
What next?
In addition to the normal progression route to a Degree in Drama, Performing Arts or Teaching.Performing Arts can also offer a route into employment within the performance industry.
