In the first year you will study Particles, Radiation and Quantum Phenomena Particles, Mechanics, Current Electricity, Elastic Properties of Solids and Waves.
The second year covers a wide range of topics including: Fields, Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Instability as well as a choice from:
Astrophysics
Medical Physics
Applied Physics
Rotational Dynamics, Thermodynamics and Engines
Turning Points in Physics
Electronics

How Will I Be Assessed?
Both AS and A2 are assessed through two written exams and a coursework assessment.

What Could I Do Next?
Physics is a useful A Level qualification for many degree subjects, including Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Medicine, Computing, Architecture, Electronics and all branches of Engineering. Apart from careers in Science and Industry, physicists often find employment in commerce and banking.

Are There Any Special Expenses?
We will use an on-line resource containing lots of past exam papers, with mark schemes and many other useful documents. Students will have to access a PC outside of the lesson and will be expected to print out homework documents.
