BTEC First Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development

This one-year course will prepare students, through practical experience and study, to work with and understand the needs of young children from 0 to 8 years.

What will I study?
Students will develop a basic understanding of childcare as well as spending some time in appropriate placements. This will be two days a week with some blocks weeks.*+
Course Tutors and Placement Supervisors will continually assess students' progress.

What next?
Many of the students who are successful on the course continue their studies on the BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development.

*A police check will be carried out on your suitability to work with children which you will be required to pay for.
+You will be required to purchase a uniform
(T-shirt) to wear on your placement.
