About this course
All applicants must have the ability to ride a horse at walk, trot, canter and ride over a small fence.
2 GCSEs at grade D or above are required.

Course Description: An excellent introduction for those students wishing to undertake a career with horses. A combination of practical sessions underpins theoretical knowledge including:
- Horse Handling & Exercise
- Horse Preparation and Presentation
- Industry and Organisations.
Practical assessments are also given for NVQ sessions.
Weekend duties, show duties and one day per week practical work on the yard is expected as an integral part of this course.
Entry Requirements:
- All applicants must have the ability to ride a horse at walk, trot, canter and ride over a small fence.
- 2 GCSEs at grade D or above are required.
- All students will be required to attend an interview.
Progression/Career Opportunities:
- Progression to Further Education courses such as the National Diploma or
- Employment within the Equine Industry and auxiliary services.
