The Course
This is a very practical course during which you will develop a portfolio illustrating your skills in work-related practical exercises. You will develop general and technical skills, knowledge and understanding to help you operate effectively within the computing and IT working environment.

You will study:

  • Starting work in the IT industry using a range of software applications, developing, at the same time, a range of personal and social skills
  • Developing skills in IT including internet searching, digital camera and image manipulation

The above topics involve some degree of individual choice of projects related to their own interests

This course is assessed via ongoing observations and assignments. Each unit has a number of assignments which you are expected to complete within a given timescale. Presentations may occasionally be used for assessing your learning. This qualification has no formal examinations.
