Course Description
This two year course covers land and woodland management, wildlife habitat conservation and ecology, in both the local and national context. It gives you a good understanding of the mechanisms and practical maintenance skills required in the countryside. You will also study Key Skills and have the opportunity to take additional qualications. The course prepares you for higher level study or provides a route to employment in one of the many countryside agencies such as National Parks, Natural England, etc. Work experience is an important element of this course. You will spend two days per week in college and at least one day per week developing practical countryside skills, usually off-site within the Yorkshire Dales.
