The Course
The syllabus for C&G 2661 and the Civil Aviation Authority approved EASA Part 66 Certifying Mechanic course is based on a common syllabus - divided between theory and hands-on practical aircraft work.
Course Content
The course includes the following modules:
C&G Unit 1: Aviation, Maths and Science
C&G Unit 2: Electrical Fundamentals/ Theory of Flight
C&G Unit 3: Aviation Legislation
C&G Unit 4: Basic Aerodynamics
C&G Unit 5: Human Factors
C&G Unit 7: Aircraft Materials and Hardware
C&G Unit 8: Aircraft Structure and Maintenance
C&G Unit 9: Aircraft Mechanical Systems
C&G Unit 10: Gas Turbine Engines and Propellers
Students who have achieved a mark of 70% in each of the core C&G subjects may proceed to the EASA course in term five. Prospective students will have to demonstrate a high standard of ability and enthusiasm to be considered for this demanding course.
Assessment/Exams
Students will be assessed by a series of practical tasks, multiple-choice question papers and assignments. All hours recorded for the C&G 2661 will be required to meet the 90% attendance needed for the successful completion of the EASA Part 66 A Licence course.
