You will need to successfully complete an interview at the college; provide two satisfactory professional references, and a Police Check. You will need to undertake a written exercise and have completed education at school to COE or GCSE level.

What will I study?
You will study: Human Growth & Development; Food & Nutrition; Health & Safety; Care of Children; Play & Practical Activities; Orientation to Work and Personal Development. You will also study the Key Skills of Communication, Application of Number and ICT. As part of your course you will undertake practical work placement experience.

How will I be assessed?
You will be asked to complete assignments during the year and a short answer test at the end of the course. CACHE recommends that a minimum of 80% attendance is essential to successfully complete the course.

Career Opportunities & Progression
After successfully completing the course and gaining a distinction grade you may be able to progress to the CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Childcare and Education and/or NVQ Level 2 Children?s Care, Learning and Development.
