CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Childcare and Education

What will I be studying?
The course will cover aspects of child care. You will study the following units:

An introduction to working with children;The Developing Child; Safe, Healthy and Nurturing Environments for Children; Children and Play; Communication and Professional Skills; The Practitioner in the Workplace; Supporting Children with Additional Needs; Welsh for Childcare. You will also study Key Skills, Manual Handling, First Aid and Food Hygiene. There is a period of work placement equivalent of 390 hours which is a mandatory element of the course.

You will be given the opportunity to study some of the units on this course bilingually.

What can I do when I have successfully completed the programme?
After completing this course successfully, you can progress to higher level qualifications such as the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education or you may seek employment in the Childcare sector.

Entry requirements
3 GCSEs Grades D to G or equivalent. You should have a keen interest in working with children. Students without these qualifications may be accepted subject to satisfactory interview. All studnets will be interviewed. You must be at least sixteen years old at the date of registration for the award.
