About this course

You will normally need to have at least one of the following: 4 GCSE passes at grade C or above to include Art & Design Merit grade at First Diploma Art & Design or equivalent. When you have applied for the course you will be called for an interview where your portfolio of work will be reviewed.

Course Summary:
The full-time Creative Digital Media National Diploma at Nescot College is a 2-year course designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to work in interactive media. Your assignments will ensure that you develop skills in animation, interactive DVD authoring, web design and film and video editing techniques.

A BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to three A-Levels at Grades A E.

Course Details:
Assessment methods will include projects, assignments and case studies, written tests and coursework. You will also study key skills communication (English). Examples of units studied are Pre-Production Techniques for the Media Industries, Production Management Project, Critical Approaches to Media Products, Digital Graphics for Interactive Media, Film & Video Editing, Video Production for Interactive Media and Designing Idents for Television

Career Progression:
You may want to progress to higher education in a specialist Foundation Degree, BA (Hons) or a BTEC Higher National programme at Nescot or in a University or College of Higher Education. This course will also prepare you for employment in the interactive media and media related sectors.

Fees:
Students will be expected to purchase some digital media, such as USB sticks costing approx. 40.
A range of visits will be arranged and will cost in total for the year approx. 20.
