Course programme

Dance BTEC National Award
For this course you must have a love of dance and be willing to try new and different approaches. You may have danced all your life, or you may just be beginning. The way the course is structured allows everyone to work at their own appropriate level.

The course centres on practical work, including regular practice and performance.

The National Award in Dance can be taken alongside a variety of courses, including the National Diploma in Performing Arts and a combination of A levels and National Awards.

You will be assessed by your tutors on a regular basis throughout the course through a variety of practical projects and assignments, including performance.

What can I do next?
This course is useful for anyone interested in a career as a performer, choreographer or teacher. There are many performing arts courses available at a higher level, including ones that specialise solely in Dance/Leisure studies. Combined with other qualifications, the National Award in Dance can also help you to progress to Higher Education courses in other areas, and will develop valuable skills in self-confidence, group work and communication.
