Audio Recording & Music Technology Courses

Develop skills in creating and producing music using industry standard software packages. These short courses give a valuable introduction to music technology and/or audio recording plus you'll get valuable knowledge on how to operate in the music industry.

BTEC National Certificate in Music Technology

This is a practical work related 12-unit course that includes: Studio Production, Computer Technology for Music, MIDI Sequencing and vital Music Business information. The course also includes study in Production Analysis and Composition. The individual will be required to complete an assignment for each of the units.

Course content includes

Studio Production, Computer Technology for Music, MIDI Sequencing and Music Business. This course is equivalent to two A-levels and up to 240 UCAS points. This course can lead to progression into Higher Education or University.

BTEC Level 3 National Certificate In Music Technology

Course Length

24 hours per week for 46 weeks (790 hours)

Suitable For

Learners over the age of 16 on August 31st 2010

Entry Requirements

One of the following: Intermediate GNVQ in a relevant subject, four GCSEs (A-C) or relevant courses that can be completed at Red Tape Studios.

Course Fees - ensuring that you pay the lowest fees

Standard Fee

The standard course fee is 2,200 GBP. To be eligible for the standard fee you must:
• Be aged 16 and over
• Currently reside in the UK
• Have resided in UK for at least 3 years

If you are not eligible for the standard fee, you will have to pay the full cost of the course.

Concessionary Fee

You will only have to pay 15 GBP to register for the course, if you fulfil the residency criteria above and at least one of the following applies to you.
• Job Seekers Allowance
• Asylum seekers or refugees in receipt of the equivalent of income tested benefit
• Income support
• Housing Benefit
• Council Tax Benefit
• Working Tax Credit with a household income of less than 15,050 GBP
• The unwaged dependents of those listed above
