Work Experience / Practical Experience:
Work experience is an integral part of the course.

Entry Process:
All applicants will be invited to an interview with the tutor. Interviews normally take place between January and September of the year in which the course starts. All applicants will be required to complete a CRB check at interview in line with the Safeguarding policies of both the department and of any settings that may be used as work placements. Any issues that arise as a result of these checks may affect the outcome of the offer of a place but will be assessed on an individual basis.
Assessment:
Assessment is based on set portfolio coursework and assessment through work experience.

Further study in this or related subjects. Please note this course is intended to provide a taste of this vocational sector, it will not quality you to work with children.
Progression Routes:
Students gaining a merit or distinction in this course may progress to our Level 2 Childs Care and Education Diploma.
