CORE Drawing development Historical and contextual understanding Materials, techniques and processes Visual Communication Ideas and concepts SPECIALIST UNITS Fine art principles Presenting fine art work Computers in Art and Design Multi Disciplinary Painting Printmaking Sculpture Exploring Ceramic Techniques Students will have an opportunity to take additional AS/A2 Level qualifications in related Art and Design subject areas. It is envisaged that students will engage with ?real? projects as the course progresses which will sometimes involve work out of College with other organisations. The course is structured around 18 modules which are taught and experienced through project based work. Increasingly students are encouraged to initiate their own work programmes as the course progresses into the second year where programmes of study will have a very individual flavour. The majority of the course is studio and workshop based and supported by Theoretical and Contextual studies in Art History. Visits to galleries and a three day residential visit to London are planned in this programme.
