What will I be studying?
This course is the equivalent of 3 A Levels. You will study a variety of units including: Equal Opportunities, Communicating Effectively, Anatomy, Physiology, Applied Science, Psychology, Research Techniques; Complementary Therapies, Public Health, Lifespan Development; Diet and Nutrition. Work placements will be an integral part of the course and you will be required to undertake 100 hours in a variety of health and care settings.You will be continually assessed via assignments. There are no external examinations on this course.

What can I do when I have successfully completed the programme?
On successful completion of the course you will be able to apply for a place at University to study for a degree such as: Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Health Promotion, Social Work or Teaching. Alternatively you could apply to do a subject degree such as Psychology or Sociology or Sciences. You could also apply for jobs as a Health or Social Care Assistant or a Project Worker.

Entry requirements
You will need either 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including Maths, Science or English/Welsh) or a BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care (Distinction grade) or equivalent. Students may be accepted without formal qualifications subject to a satisfactory interview. All applicants are interviewed.
