English GCSE, Adult Literacy Levels 1 & 2 and ESOL
We offer several courses leading to qualifications in English. If English is not your first language we can tailor the course to help you develop your understanding and confidence. We aim to offer literacy support at a level to suit each individual so we will complete a diagnostic assessment with you to find out which course will be most suitable for your needs.

What will I study?
Each course aims to improve your skills in punctuation, spelling and grammar. The coursework includes Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing. You will learn to recognise different purposes for writing and how to employ different writing forms for your own needs. The GCSE course also involves the study of some literature and poetry from other cultures.

How will I be assessed?
All our courses are assessed by a mixture of written and oral coursework and exams which assess reading and writing.

What can I do next?
Successful completion of each level can lead on to the next level. GCSE is a nationally recognised qualification and Adult Literacy Level 2 is accepted by most employers and some higher education providers.
