DESCRIPTION:
This is a one-year full-time or part-time course which prepares speakers of other languages for entry to vocational qualifications or employment. The course consists of SQA units in ESOL (Intermediate 2 level), care skills in Information Technology and Numeracy and a general science unit. Learners may be presented for the SQA external examination for ESOL at Intermediate 2 level.


ESOL for Further and Higher Education
This full or part time one year programme at Intermediate 2 and Higher levels prepares speakers of other languages for study at NQ, HN and degree level.

CONTENT:
Learners will study English for everyday communication and specialised English for study purposes. Learners will be presented for SQA units and graded external examinations. Higher ESOL is one of the recognised entry qualifications for the following universities: Glasgow, Strathclyde, St Andrews, Heriot Watt, Aberdeen, Abertay, Dundee, Stirling and University of West of Scotland.


Fast Track - Communications 4 plus Literature 1(Higher English Equivalent)
Communication 4 + Literature 1 flexible programmes are designed to meet the English requirements for admission to teacher training and are suitable for university access courses, university under-graduates and graduates.

This normally takes 120 hours but this unique fast-track programme takes you through the course in just 36 hours.
