What will I study?
You will have the opportunity to develop your confidence and independence by learning new skills and joining in the life of the College. You will undertake work experience and learn computer skills as part of the Communications unit. You will be expected to study the following units: Literacy and communication. Numeracy. Independent travel. Health and healthy living. Personal development. The world of work. Domestic studies. Computer skills. You can choose to study some of these units: Horticulture. Workshop practice. Catering. Engineering. Agriculture. Conservation. Animal care. Equine studies.
Will I have to sit any examinations?
Students will be able to choose modules that lead to qualifications.
What will I have at the end of the course?
There are various options at the end of the course. Some go on to a pre-vocational course at the College. Others choose to go on a training scheme or on the Work Step scheme with Agoriad and/or the Jobcentre. Some choose to attend Gerddi Stiniog, Seren Cyf., do voluntary work or take advantage of the Day Opportunities offered by the Social Services. Others will continue to attend the Colleges Gardening and Conservation course one day a week
What next?
The course staff collaborates with the Care Management Team, Agoriad and the Careers Service. The aim of the course is to help you realise your personal ambitions. We will try to make arrangements to include you in voluntary work or work schemes, or to progress to a further course.
