This programme has been designed specifically for trades people either currently in a management role or looking to progress to management within the automotive sector. A unique combination of advanced technical and management skills are brought together to provide a strong foundation for management or operating a business in the sector.

Duration
Two academic years Part-time/monthly three day study blocks (Thurs, Fri, Sat) 0900-1700
Method of Study
The course is delivered based on one evening a week at college and one Saturday per month at college. The college sessions include seminars, group work, guest speakers and the opportunity to get assistance with the course work requirements. Each candidate is allocated a mentor/workplace assessor who will visit the workplace to assess the candidate in their normal day to day duties against the unit outcomes and act as a mentor for the year two project work.
Progression
Successful candidates can progress on to a Degree programme in management or similar associated field.
Entry Requirement
Applicants must be currently employed in a relevant area of the Light or Heavy automotive industry. Applicants will typically hold recognised qualifications at Level 3 or 4(such as IMI, City & Guilds or BTEC) but this is not an absolute requirement. Applicants with alternative qualifications supported by good and relevant experience will also be considered. The employer will need to be supportive of the work-based programme. Applicants will need to demonstrate their general suitability and commitment at an informal interview. Direct entry to year two is possible on demonstrating competence through the ATA Master Technician accreditation and the completion of a bridging programme.
