You will need 6 GCSEs at grades A-C to study AS subjects. You will be expected to have achieved grade A or B in GCSE French. The requirements for adults will be different.

You will study various themes such as:

There will be assignments, tests, and an examination at the end of the year. You will be assessed on oral and written work.

You will have an AS certificate in French. You can study the subject for another year and gain an A level certificate. You will study these subjects in the second year:

What next?
You can use the subject to gain entry to university to follow a degree course. In the past, students studying French have pursued careers in business, languages, translating and the media.
