The course has been designed to:
Recognise the impact of Science and technology on everyday life.
Make informed personal decisions about issues and questions that involve science.
Understand and reflect on the information included in (or omitted from) media reports and other sources of information.
Topics include genes, air quality, the Earth and its place in the Universe, keeping healthy, materials choices, radiation and life, life on Earth, food matters and radioactive materials.
How Will I Be Assessed?
Two thirds of the course is assessed by examination and one third is marked at college by a skill assessment.
What Could I Do Next?
With good grades you could proceed to Advanced Level courses or use your certificate as a basic qualification for other courses.
