Hairdressing NVQ (Level 1 - 2)
Course Content
This two-year course will teach basic hairdressing skills.
Year 1:

• Client Care;
• Shampooing and Conditioning;
• Styling, Cutting, Perming and Colouring;
• Health and Safety;
• Customer Service.

Students will also complete NVQ Level 1 Hairdressing and one day per week work experience placement.
Year 2:
NVQ Level 2 hairdressing assessments in:

• Client Care;
• Shampooing and Conditioning;
• Styling, Cutting, Perming and Colouring;
• Reception;
• Health and Safety.

Students will also complete NVQ Level 1 Customer Services and one day per week work experience placement.
Teaching/Assessment
The course covers a range of units along with written assignments. A variety of practical assessments. A variety of practical assessments will be carried out. A portfolio of evidence will be produced.
Progression
This qualification can lead to progression to NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing or into employment.
Additional Information
Students will be required to purchase their own kits / equipment.
