Course Details
This is a practical work-related course. You learn by completing
projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace
situations, activities and demands. It introduces you to the
employment area and provides a good basis to go onto more advanced work-related qualifications.

What will I study?
The course is made up of six units, the two core units being:

· Communication and Individual Rights within the Health & Social
Care Sectors.
· Individual Needs with the Health & Social Care Sectors

The four specialist units may be:

· Vocational Experience in a Health & Social Care setting
· Cultural Diversity in Health & Social Care
· Anatomy and Physiology for Health & Social Care
· Human Lifespan Development
· Creative and Therapeutic Activities in Health & Social Care
· Health & Social Care services
· The impact of Diet on Health

The teaching team have extensive experience in the Health & Social Care sector.

Entry Requirements:
Progression/Careers: Students could get employment in Registered Care Homes,
Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Health Centres. Alternatively,
successful students may progress to the BTec National
Certificate or Diploma in Health & Social Care or BTec National Certificate or Diploma in Care.

Costs/Equipment: Course costs: minimum of £70 for CRB check,course book and materials cost.
