Assessment/Exams
The course is assessed via a combination of examination and continuous assessment.
  • Practical assessment workshop tasks measure competence, which is the ability to complete a vehicle related job to a satisfactory standard
  • Online examinations that assess underpinning knowledge, the theory of each vehicle system and its related studies
  • Phase testing, which are short term time tests (coursework) to ensure one subject is understood before moving to the next topic
Progression/Career Path
Depending upon which discipline you have studied, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering, this qualification enables you to seek employment in either the Automotive (production road car) or Motorsport industry. However, it is suggested to proceed on to the natural progression 2nd year National Diploma qualification offered here at Northbrook, to obtain a full National Diploma.
