Classes are suitable for students of any age who are interested in studying Sociology. You do not need to have studied Sociology before. You will need grade C GCSE in English. Additionally a satisfactory reference will be required from a previous educational institution

AS Level Sociology

Course Details

AS sociology can be studied as part of the full-time AS programme, in which students are expected to study 4 AS subjects. Sociology is the study of society. More specifically it is about the study of individuals and how they shape and are shaped by society. Units to be studied: UNIT 1 SCLY1 - Topic studied: Families and Households This module is assessed by a one hour exam which can be taken in either January or June. This makes up 40% of the AS. Unit 2 - SCLY2 - Topics studied: Education Sociological Methods This module is assessed by a two hour exam taken in June. This makes up 60% of the AS.

Classes are suitable for students of any age who are interested in studying Sociology. You do not need to have studied Sociology before. You will need grade C GCSE in English. Additionally a satisfactory reference will be required from a previous educational institution
