Description:
This is a practical, work related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. The BTEC National diploma is equivalent to 3 A Levels which means that when you have finished the course you can choose whether to get a job straight away or go into higher education first. You will study 18 units including: business systems, communication, science, mathematics, manufacturing systems & technology, production planning & scheduling, finishing/secondary processes, design, materials, measurement & inspection techniques, computer aided design, CNC machining, world class manufacturing quality techniques, health, safety & welfare, electro-pneumatic/hydraulic systems & devices, mechanical principles, further mathematics, and a project.

Progression:
Higher national diploma or employment.

Entry Requirements:
GCSE grade C or above in maths, science, English language, or BTEC First Diploma, or interview with the course tutor.
