A BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to 3 Advanced GCEs at Grades 'A E' and is taken as a full-time course.
Course Details:
The course is made up of 18 units. You will also study key skills communication (English). Examples of units studied are Analogue and Digital Audio Principles, Computer music system, Music sequencing, Sound recording techniques, Pop music in practice and Soundtrack production for TV and Film. Many of the tutors are Working Musicians or Media Producers with specialist knowledge. We have a dedicated sound Recording Studio within our Media Suite.
Career Progression:
You may want to progress to higher education in a specialist BA (Hons) or a BTEC Higher National programme in Music Production at Nescot or in a University or College of Higher Education. Alternatively you may progress into jobs in the industry, for example in music management, performance or production.

Students will be expected to purchase some digital media, such as USB sticks costing approx. 30.
A range of visits will be arranged and will cost in total for the year approx. 20.
