The BTEC National Certificate is a 1-year practical work related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. Working on ?live? theatrical productions enables you to produce work towards a professional portfolio. As well as learning about the employment area you will develop the skills you need to start a career. It is the equivalent of two A levels which means you may choose to go onto Higher Education.

What will I study?
The course is made up of eleven units, three core units, which everyone takes, and eight further specialist units. Core units: Production Workshop; Production for Theatre Performance and Production Planning (project). Specialist Units include: Make-up for Performers; Make-up Design & Application; Special Effects Make-up; Period Make-up and Hair Design for Performers.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through a number of practical and written assignments. All units are internally assessed and graded with an overall grading for the qualification awarded.
