The National Diploma in Media Production is a 2-year three A level equivalent course. You are able to gain in skills and confidence within a supportive environment created by well-qualified and committed staff, as well as having access to excellent facilities and resources at the Rhondda Campus. This course is designed for those interested in working within the media industries. It offers the chance to study for a nationally recognised qualification, which will allow you to develop a range of skills including design for TV and video technology.
Entry requirements
You must be at least 16 years of age on starting the course. You will be invited to attend an interview.
What will I study?
The course is made up of eighteen units - five core units, which everyone takes, and specialist units. Core Units Research Techniques for the Media Industries; Pre-Production Techniques for the Media Industries; Production Management Project; Professional Brief and Critical Approaches to Media Products. Specialised Units include: Video Technology; Film Studies; Factual Programme Production for TV; Music Video Production; Advertisement Production for Television; Designing Indents for Television; Stop Motion Animation Production and Video Installation Work.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through a number of practical and written assignments. All units are internally assessed and graded with an overall grading for the qualification awarded.
