NC Sport and Recreation (Int 2) (Full time)

Aims:
This course is designed to prepare students for entry to the
Sport and Recreation industry at a basic level or as preparation
for entry to NC Sport and Recreation (Higher). The emphasis is
on gaining practical skills and experience in a variety of sports
and exercise contexts.

Duration:
1 Year Full time August to June

Content:
All subject units are at SCQF level 5. A variety of practical sports
subjects including:
. Core Skills (Int 2)
. Human Anatomy and Physiology
. Indoor sports: Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming
. Introduction to the theory of Coaching and Instructing
. Outdoor activities: Ski-ing, Mountain Biking, Hill Walking,
.Watersports: Residential Watersports and Snowsports

Articulation:
This course is designed to articulate with various NC Higher
courses such as Sport and Recreation; Sports Therapy; Fitness
and Exercise etc.

Careers:
Former students have accessed employment as Leisure Centre
Attendants.
