The Access to HE course provides a stepping stone for mature students who do not have the qualifications to go to University. It is designed for people who, for whatever reason did not go straight to University after leaving school.

Course Details:
The course concentrates on Nursing and Sociology, and is suitable if you are interested in taking any of the following subjects at University:
Osteopathy
Healthcare
Nursing
Science
Nutrition
Science or PE Teaching
Social Science

You will take Study Skills, other compulsory units relating to nursing and sociology, attend tutorial sessions and study Mathematics at GCSE level if you do not already hold a GCSE at grade C.

Career Progression:
This course is specifically about preparing you for a place at university or higher education institution where you will study a health or social science course. The course equates to 12 x Level 2 and 48 x Level 3 credits, 60 in total

Students on this course come from a range of backgrounds, ages and experiences.

You will be able to come and meet the Course Leader who will be pleased to discuss the course in detail with you at interview.

During your course, your tutor will help you with your application to higher education at university or college, and give you sessions on interview technique.

Fees:
Tuition fee in 2009/10 for E.U. students is 1,546 and for overseas students 4,900. The tuition fee can be waived for home students who are on a means tested benefit or who are eligible for the Level 3 Offer. Registration fee 85. College affiliation fee 25.
