NVQ Hairdressing - Level 3
This course is ideal for those wishing to improve upon the skills that are necessary to work confidently and effectively in a hairdressing salon and follows on from the NVQ2 course.

Course duration:
The normal length of the course is 16 hours a week for 36 weeks. If you are employed in a salon you will be able to follow the course for one day a week over 36 weeks.

What will I need to follow the course?
NVQ 2 in Hairdressing

Where will I study:

What will I study?

* Providing good service to the customer.
* Cutting and styling hair.
* Perming using a variety of techniques.
* Colouring the hair using a variety of techniques.
* Contributing to the financial success of the business.
* Contributing to the safe running of the salon.
In addition you will select three other units from the following list:

* Designing and creating images using a variety of hair cutting techniques.
* Setting and styling the hair to create a variety of images.
* Working together to plan activities which promote the business.
* Teaching skills to train inexperienced staff.
* Assessment skills.

Will I have to sit any examinations?
There will be no examinations but your work will be assessed by the course tutors and an external examiner will visit the College at intervals to ensure standards are being met.

What will I have at the end of the course?
On successful completion of the course you will gain the NVQ Level 3 certificate in Hairdressing.

What next?
Other specialist training options will be open to you and you may to go straight to work in a salon, and participate in shows and competitions. If you are already working in a salon, you will have expanded your experience and raised your skill level. You will be able to train others.
