Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.

About the course:
The course requires students to be in College one day a week. On other days they will be in a supervised work placement. Time in college will be divided between underpinning knowledge sessions and tutorials. The tutorial system will help candidates action plan and review their progress in the placement. While in their placement candidates will collect evidence for their NVQ portfolios. This evidence will typically include, among other things, reports from placement supervisors, records of assessment observations and photographs of the candidate carrying out activities with the children. The successful candidate†s portfolio will contain evidence that they are competent in the following units :- - Support children†s physical development needs - Support children†s social & emotional development - Implement planned activities for sensory and intellectual development - Implement planned activities for the development of language and communication skills - Maintain an attractive, stimulating and reassuring environment for children - Maintain the safety and security of children - Contribute to the achievement of organisational requirements - Relate to parents - 2 optional units (total 10 units)

After the course:
Successful candidates could possibly:- - Progress to NVQ Early Years care and Education Level 3 - Progress to EDEXCEL Diploma in Early Years (Level 3) - Gain employment as an Early Years†Assistant.
