What will I be studying?
The main aim of the course is to extend and develop your IT skills and provide you with the knowledge and competency to be able to work in a modern IT environment. A range of IT applications will be covered, including Excel (spreadsheets), Access (databases), Word and Publisher, Photoshop, Creating Web pages, Electronic Communications and the Internet. Various aspects of working and managing an IT environment will also be covered. A period of work experience may be included.

This is a hands-on course which will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in an up-to-date technology environment, both in terms of using a range of software packages and in terms of managing and maintaining an IT environment. In addition you will develop your personal and inter-personal skills.

What can I do when I have successfully completed the programme?
This qualification is appropriate for anyone who will make significant use of IT to process information and who may provide support to others. As IT is now used so extensively, employment could be gained in a wide variety of areas.
