Business Management and Financial Services - Secretarial and Administration
FULL TIME: Office Administrators/Clerical Assistants NVQ in Business & Administration Level 1 - BLLC(2010/2011)
Study Method:
Formal structured lessons, research, discussion groups, role-play and practical training.
Students are expected to attend classes 3 days each week for one year. Timetable may vary but classes will be between 9.00am and 5.30pm. There will be the opportunity of a work experience placement during the duration of the course.
Students will be required to find a work placement for one or 2 days per week throughout the course.
Duration :One year - 3 days a week
Who the Course is For:
Applicants are welcome from school leavers and mature students who wish to enter employment in an administrative or clerical role.
Assessment:
In order to achieve the NVQ in Business and Administration L1, students will need to complete 2 mandatory units plus 2 optional units. Units will be centre-assessed and externally moderated by an Edexcel visiting moderator. All units are assessed by practical observation and a portfolio of evidence.
In addition, students will cover Text Processing and Word Processing and be entered for OCR exams.
Course Leads To:
- Skills and qualifications being acquired that will assist students to obtain employment in offices as Office Juniors or Administration Assistants using up-to-date technology.
- Mature students learning new skills and/or updating old skills in order to return to employment or progress onto higher level courses.
- School leavers who want a thorough grounding in office skills which will enable them to progress onto higher level courses.
