Description:
At Crosskeys and Newport the period of study is the history of Wales and England 1880-1980.The European history half of the syllabus covers an in-depth study of Nazi Germany, which includes a coursework element in the A Level assessment. At Pontypool the period of study is the history of Wales and England 1815-1914. The specialist focus is on Reform and Protest in Wales & England 1830-1848 which includes social conditions, parliamentary reform, the Merthyr Rising, the Chartist movement and the Rebecca Riots. All courses involve examinations and a coursework element.

Progression:
Higher education; teaching, the civil service, law, museum and library work.
