The Course
This qualification provides an accepted industry qualification to allow individuals the opportunity to gain national recognition for their skills and progress on to higher level courses. The objective of this NVQ is to ensure that the engineering industry has competent personnel who can perform these skills to industry standards.
Course Content
The learning programme consists of five units:
- Working safely in an engineering environment
- Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
- Using and communicating technical information
- Wiring electrical equipment and circuits
- Assembling electrical wiring support systems
All candidates will be assessed for the qualification by the centre's EAL approved assessment route which the centres are required to comply with.
The candidate's portfolio will also be verified by an EAL external verifier.
Progression/Career Path
After satisfactory completion of this qualification, learners could either progress on to the Level 2 Electrotechnical 2330 course or Electrotechnical Apprenticeship Framework.
Potential job occupations include building technician or electrical engineering technician.
