About this course
The entry requirements are four GCSEs at Grade C or above or a BTEC Fist Diploma Art and design. A current portfolio of work demonstrating creative ability will also be requried. Through the accreditation of prior learning it is possible to enter directly into the second year of the course.

Summary
This course will teach the student the required technical and creative photographic and design skills that would enable an individual to apply for trainee positions within the photographic and graphic design industries or apply for related courses in Higher Education. This is a full time course and students will be expected to attend College on at least 3 days per week with 2 days home study.
Qualifications
A National Diploma in Photography awarded in conjunction with BTEC.
Progression Routes
This course qualifies you for progression into Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) Degree courses in Photography and related studies, or to employment opportunities within the Photography, Graphic Design and Advertising industries.

Course Content

Students will learn a wide range of chemical and digital-based techniques. Still and moving image will be studied. Within the course students will work with different cameras, a range of image-based software and design methodology. Visual Communication through drawing, layout design and typography are also timetabled as these are essential skills to any contemporary photographer and designer.
