Photography Course Summary

Are your images as good as they could be? Or is there something missing - that WOW factor? Travel photography is challenging and diverse and the versatility to be able to photograph different subjects in different light can make for exciting photography and fascinating images.

This shoot-based photography course will help you to improve your technical skills and to develop your creativity when capturing images. It will offer the opportunity to photograph landscapes, detail, architecture and people, and there will be a dawn shoot on the second day.

Suffolk is "big sky" country and along the coast there are a number of picturesque, quintessentially English seaside towns such as Southwold, where this course is based. From here we'll be able to combine coastal landscapes, fascinating architecture, interesting and often humourous seaside details.

Southwold itself has a charming pier and amusement arcade, a brewery and an inland lighthouse, colourful traditional beach huts and characterful fishing harbour. Across the inlet and reached by a small chain-link ferry, is the village of Walberswick and its sandy beach beyond the dunes - all giving us plenty to photograph and numerous opportunities to improve your photography skills.

Tuition

Course tuition is under the guidance of one of two award-winning professional photographers - Nick Meers or Chris Coe. Nick and Chris have about 50 years of photographic experience between them, shooting everything from landscapes to cars, people to food, travel to architecture and abstracts to wildlife images. Their photography has taken them all over the world on commissioned work and stock shoots, photographing on film and digitally, in every format from 35mm to large format panoramics.
