Course Summary:
The 1 year Plastering Diploma at Nescot College is available on a full or part-time basis to fit around your existing commitments. The course combines skills and knowledge sessions to give you good practical skills with underpinning job knowledge of Plastering. You will work towards achieving 6 units of competence throughout the year which will culminate in an end of year City & Guilds examination.

- Know how to carry out safe working practices in construction
- Knowledge of information, quantities and communicating with others
- Knowledge of building methods and construction technology
- Know how to prepare background surfaces and plaster materials
- Know how to apply plaster materials to internal backgrounds

Functional Skills in Numeracy and Literacy are included in the Full Time programme along with both group and one to one tutorials and enrichment activities. You will be given details of course materials, stationery and the health and safety equipment you will require when you enrol on the programme.

Career Progression:
Upon completion of the programme you may progress to the Level 2 Diploma.

Other Information:

Students are required to provide steel toe-capped boots and overalls for practical work.

Requirement
FULL TIME COURSES ARE ONLY OPEN TO PEOPLE AGED UNDER 19 YEARS ON 31ST AUGUST PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF THE COURSE. 2 GCSEs at grade D or above, one of which must be Maths. You will have an informal advisory interview with a construction tutor. Your discussion with the tutor will be for approximately 30 minutes and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about the content of the course.
