Introduction
The Travel and Tourism Industry continues to grow year on year and provides numerous exciting career opportunities. This course allows students to gain a broad understanding of Travel and Tourism and to study selected areas of the industry in greater depth. In addition to the main course of study the students are able to study for additional qualifications that will enhance their knowledge and give them a competitive advantage over other people in their chosen career. The qualification consists of 6 specialist units including: * Residential Study Unit * Work Experience * Air Passenger Handling * Roles and Responsibilities of a Holiday Representative. * Events, Conferences and Exhibitions * Current Issues in Travel and Tourism In addition to these core BTEC modules you will have the opportunity to study other qualifications such as Customer Service agent, Air Cabin Crew, Sign Language.
Duration
One year full time course. (With progression to the 2 year course).
Method of Study
You will study through a series of lectures, seminars and practical sessions. We have many opportunities to visit various places in the industry and these are a valuable learning tool. These trips are compulsory as they form an essential part of the course and allow you to apply your studies to a specific part of the industry. You will be assessed by a variety of methods including projects, essays, reports, presentations, role plays and end test.
Progression
On successful completion of this qualification you will be eligible to continue to Higher Education to study a Degree or HND. Alternatively you will be perfectly equipped to join the industry.
