Course Content

The course includes both the theoretical and practical aspects of performance and though primarily focused on acting for the theatre also includes singing and movement. Students will be involved in a variety of performance projects. Recent performances include: Shut Up, Ether ( Newton House) Under Milkwood ( Graig Theatre)

Performances are staged at the college and in external professional and site-specific venues

The course has a strong link with professional performers and companies including ELAN Wales.

The course has received National recognition with performances across Europe and in London.
Career Prospects and Progression

BTEC First Diplomas and Certificates offer direct progression on to BTEC National programmes. On completion of a BTEC National, students can progress to a BTEC Higher National or BTEC Foundation Degree programme. A BTEC First also prepares students for employment in their chosen career.

The course is continuously assessed through a combination of coursework and practical projects.

Entry Requirements

BTEC Level 1 Certificate OR a standard of literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to four GCSEs at grades D-G OR related work experience OR other related level 1 or 2 qualifications.
