Course Content

The Award (ICA) is designed to prepare people for work in painting and decorating occupations. It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions.

Career Prospects and Progression

Employment in the Construction Industry and progression onto the Advanced Construction Award in Painting and Decorating.

Modules

- Store materials and equipment - Erect and dismantle basic working platforms - Work efficiently - Prepare the work area for operations - Prepare surfaces for decorating - Apply paint materials by brush and roller - Apply standard wallpapers to non-complex surface areas - Apply basic specialist paint finishes

Method of Assessment

Practical tasks and knowledge questions. On-line computerised multiple choice examination. Health and Safety test via computerised testing.
