Course Content

This programme of study is designed to cover the advances in music technology, the creative uses to which it can be put and how to make a living from applying the skills and knowledge gained.

Course Features

Taught on industry standard equipment by lecturers who are current professionals within their subject areas.

In practical subject areas each student will have use of an individual computer workshop with state of the art computer sequencing and recording software.

Opportunities to perform in a variety of venues.

TV studio to record live performances

Opportunities are available to study formal contemporary composition and arranging.

Students will be encouraged to work to professional standards and if worthy their work will be promoted commercially.

Many links with universities and industry via the department's Industry Consultative Panel and it's partnership with Roland UK.

The programme of study has a potential of 480 UCAS points.
Career Prospects and Progression

National Diplomas provide an excellent basis for progression to Higher level qualifications such as Degrees or Foundation Degrees. Successful students may find employment working in composing, performing, producing and selling music, working for retail outlets, recording studios, TV, radio or theatre companies.

Method of Assessment

The course is continuously assessed and will include assignments and practical work. Assessment will be both internal and external.
