Our PGCE offers you vital skills to teach English to speakers of other languages. This full-time course leads to a qualification for teaching in further education colleges, adult education centres, art colleges, healthcare and community organisations. Our course also includes training for public services and a wide range of commercial and voluntary organisations.

While training with us, you will learn essential teaching skills and classroom management. Discover how language and literacy is acquired, and review and analyse innovative approaches to teaching English, including the four key skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening. Learn how to generate enthusiasm for language learning, and how to challenge and empower your own students.

About this course



For the Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) applicants and the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (ProfGCE), applicants should have:

A 2.2 or above in an honours degree in a relevant subject
Level 3 qualification in relevant subject if degree is not in a relevant subject
GCSE English at C or above or equivalent. We accept equivalency tests from Equivalency Testing for Career Development and A Star Equivalency Testing and BCU.
