In further education, literacy is an essential life skill to master, and it is your role to educate and inspire. Our PGCE focuses on teaching in colleges, adult education centres, art colleges, healthcare and community organisations. It also encompasses training for public services and a wide range of commercial and voluntary organisations.
The course includes teaching and classroom management, leading to the essential qualifications required to achieve your goals. You will explore how language and literacy is acquired and learned. You will review and analyse a variety of innovative approaches to the teaching of literacy, including the four key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
