A brilliant opportunity to study at two of Yorkshire's most famous gardens, the course is currently delivered at Harlow Carr Gardens, York Gate Gardens and Craven College in Skipton.

This course is ideal for those who are interested in entering as a professional into the garden design industry. You will develop specific knowledge of all aspects of garden design including site analysis and surveying, the art and science of plant use, graphic and rendering skills, Computer Aided Design, and elements of garden history and conservation.

You will be equipped with the practical, managerial and academic skills to successfully design gardens and run a small business. You will also develop a range of transferable skills and knowledge, including business and contract management, creativity, innovation and problem solving. The course includes lectures and demonstrations, practical and creative drawing sessions, site visits, and the design of several ‘real’ gardens.

Through work experience you will develop the skills needed to work with a range of different clients, and to liaise with those in the horticultural and construction industries.

Our tutors have a range of relevant and current industry experience and have guided previous students to win three Gold Awards and a Premier/Best in Show at Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
