2. Course description This course is suitable for students with an interest in Interior Design Architecture Art & Design or Product Design takes the student on a journey through the techniques processes and skills necessary to become a Professional Interior Designer.It is a programme of study which is recognised as an ideal preparation for progression to University level and encourages and embodies personal development through self-directed study. The course will introduce students to the skills techniques and processes that are necessary within the Interior Design Industry. For example students may learn the fundamentals of Spatial Planning CAD (Computer Aided Design) Visual communications Historical and Contextual Importance within Interior Design and much more. The course also includes within its programme an opportunity to develop the wider creative areas of Interior Design such as Print Making 3D Work and Surface Pattern.You will undertake assignments which will be a mixture of real life briefs and self-devised projects. You will also undertake an underpinning study of general Art Theory Practice and Techniques. Subsidiary Diploma 90 Credit Diploma and Extended Diploma routes are available.

Entry requirements To gain entry to this course you must possess four or more GCSEs at Grade C or above to include English (or an equivalent qualification e.g. Level 2 Functional English) and preferably Maths (or equivalent e.g. Level 2 Functional Maths) or other equivalent qualifications acceptable to the College. You must also undertake a successful interview showing a portfolio of work and provide a satisfactory reference. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method Continuous Assessment via assignments and projects observations of practical work with a final self-directed major project in the second year.
