Gas Intermediate Certificate

Is this course for me?

Intensive gas training programme designed to supplement on the
job training when a gas operative is working under supervision with
a registered engineer, the operative builds a portfolio of gas work
over a period and on completion of the portfolio, end tests prepare
him/her for ACS progression.

Weeks 1-5

• Domestic natural gas safety
• Pipe work installation / testing
• Regulations
• Combustion, pressure and flow
• Gas controls
• Flues and standards
• Ventilation
• Portfolio building workshop

Weeks 6-9

• Practical installations / methods / procedures
• Industry unsafe situations
• Carbon monoxide dangers / prevention / procedures
• Portfolio building workshop

Weeks 10-14

• Flue installation / testing
• Assessment 1 domestic installation
• Assessment 2 gas safety controls
• Assessment 3 flues and ventilation
• Portfolio review

Weeks 15- 16

• formal assessments

What can I do next?

Successful candidates will be able to progress to ACS CCN1
assessments.
What are the entry requirements?

Candidates must be able to obtain on the job work experience
with a registered engineer. Basic levels of literacy and
calculations.

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
