The transient phase, the brief period of time in which the engine adjusts to a new power setting, is one of particular importance; during this phase many components operate close to their performance limits, such as surge in the compressors, high temperatures in the turbines, and in some cases rotor over speeding.

Course structure This 4-day course is presented through a mixture of lectures, tutorials and worked examples. Printed course material is provided for delegates use during and after the course. Active participation from the delegates is strongly encouraged particularly during the worked examples in order to consolidate learning. All delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of this course.

The aim of the Gas Turbine Transient Performance course is to provide an understanding of the events taking place during the transient phase, and to introduce and explain the models employed to simulate gas turbine behaviour.
